Yamaha Raptor 700R at Glamis Dunes: ATV Riding After 20 Years

I recently picked up a Yamaha Raptor 700R racing quad and hadn't ridden ATVs in the dunes in a long while. With international travel feeling shaky, I figured it was time to get back into it — and Glamis Dunes is only two hours east of San Diego, so there's really no excuse not to go.

Headed out to Glamis and had an absolute blast riding the new quad — ripping up massive walls of sand, throwing the rear end around, roosting everywhere. I used to ride a Yamaha Banshee in high school and we'd hit Pismo Dunes regularly. Glamis is a different scale entirely. The dunes are enormous, the bowls are deep, and you need real speed to carry momentum around them without washing out into the soft stuff.

These images and adventures are part of what inspires our adventure t-shirt designs — if you're into dune riding, ATVs, or just shredding and having a good time in the California desert, you'll feel right at home here. Drop me a line if you want to link up for a Glamis session or talk about a new design collaboration.

Stay stoked,
