The last few years, Sayulita, Mexico has become one of our favorite surf destinations. This area just north of Puerto Vallarta — including Punta De Mita and Sayulita — is known to some as the "Mexican Malibu." I've been traveling here annually for the last 6 years.
Sayulita is designated as one of Mexico's "Magic Towns" — known for friendly people, a great vibe, amazing small eateries, and warm, consistent reef waves. Having learned Spanish in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua, I love spending time in Mexico keeping my second language alive.

- Punta Burros — fun, consistent right-hand reef break. One of our favorites in the area.
- La Lancha — wide beach, variety of waves from beginner to advanced.
- Sayulita Town Right — the right-hand wave in downtown Sayulita works on most swells and never gets old.
