Pints at Fall Brewing Friday
This weekend was solid. Started with a friend rolling back into San Diego from his bubble sea-side condo near K-38 in Baja. Tim was committed to just catching a few drinks at Fall Brewing and being productive — but after a few pints and some convincing, we talked him into sessioning Greer Ranch's Enduro Mountain Bike Trails in Murrieta.
Greer Ranch MTB Saturday
Tim mainly surfs and hadn't been getting out to ride. Luckily, Andrea called Scott the owner of MJ Cyclery and got Tim a loaner enduro bike. Greer Ranch has become Andrea's go-to riding spot — so she loves taking out-of-town friends up there for a taste of MTB knar.
We took three laps — Double D, Overdrive, and Distortion — before Tim was begging for a pint and a rest. He did well for someone who hadn't ridden singletrack in two years. He ate a dirt sandwich on the last section of Distortion, but that's basically a Greer Ranch initiation.
Greer Ranch is one of the best places in SoCal to get into mountain biking — the trail variety runs from beginner-friendly to full enduro rowdiness.
McCain Valley OHV Sunday
With my KTM 500 EXC already loaded in the van, I headed out to McCain Valley OHV east of San Diego for Sunday moto. The singletrack and rock features at McCain Valley never disappoint — I've developed a route connecting four dry, technical riverbeds into one rad loop that's legitimately one of the best dirt bike experiences in Southern California.
I set up my GoPro Hero 9 on a tripod to get ride-by footage — these sessions are the direct inspiration behind our E-Moto and dirt bike shirts.
