Andrea, Kyler, Riley, and I packed up the 4x4 Sprinter and all the adventure toys and did a classic California Sierra Nevada loop. Starting at my mom's house near Bass Lake, CA — which has some seriously fun, relatively unregulated singletrack — before heading up to Lake Tahoe and Mammoth.
Shredding Singletrack at Bass Lake
Andrea and I got in a great MTB session on Goat Mountain near Bass Lake and the legendary 007 trail — arguably the most well-known singletrack around Bass Lake. 007 is one of my all-time favorite trails: challenging yet flowing, threading through pine trees with river crossings and technical features everywhere. Views over Bass Lake from the ridge are stunning.
I also got out early one morning and lapped 007 solo on the dirt bike — a completely different experience on moto. Highly recommend doing both if you're ever in the area.
This entire trip — the singletrack, the Sierra Nevada scenery, the family sessions in the van — directly shapes our mountain bike t-shirt designs and dirt bike/E-Moto shirts. Every design starts somewhere real.
Enjoy the recap video from the trip — and if you're ever in the Bass Lake area and want to ride, drop me a line.
Stay stoked,
